Settlement at removal
I am moving out of my flat. When will my heating costs be settled?
Reply: You are entitled to heating accounts once a year and it is not possible to calculate the cost during the accounting year. When you move out, you therefore have to await the annual accounts when the heating costs of the entire property are calculated. You can find the accounting period and reading date on your old heating bills or ask your administrator to tell you.
In addition, the following applies:
In properties with oil fired or natural gas fired, the residents must receive the heating accounts no later than four months after the end of the heating accounting year (reading date)
In properties with collective heating supply (district heating), the residents must have the heating accounts no later than three months after the landlord has received the final accounts from the heating station. The reading date will be indicated on the heating bill.
