Exposed location
What does exposed location mean and how is my reduction for exposed location calculated?
Reply: The reason for exposed location reduction is that residents should pay the same for the same comfort temperature no matter where the flat is located within the property. In other words, the reduction, which in heating speak is called ”correction for exposed location”, is a discount incorporated in the heating accounts for residents in flats whose heating consumption is unusually large due to exposed location. Flats in exposed locations may be against a gable, above an unheated basement, on the top floor, next to or above a gate, etc.
The correction can be applied to the part of the payment which is consumption-based (i.e. the measured consumption), the part which is not consumption-based (the heat distribution number) or both.
For the correction, we need a so-called heating loss calculation, which is prepared by a firm of engineers or architects. If no heating loss calculation is available, we use Brunata’s experience-based figures by agreement with the property administrator.
